“They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshipped and served the creation rather than the Creator.”
(Romans 1:25)
This is just as true today, as it was 2,000 years ago!
We spend our days worrying over our lives, our relationships, our pets, our things, our finances and the world around us. How easily we lose sight of how miraculous it is that any of it exists at all.
Where did it all come from? How did our world get here? Are we aware of the grandeur of it all?
Worship is whatever we give our time, attention, energy and effort. So often, we give those things to the world around us, and we fail to acknowledge the source of it all. We worship and serve the creation, rather than the Creator!
Those who are consumed with the world and earthly things are quick to draw others into a worldly mindset — to seek after and pursue material wealth and personal gain above all else.
However, we start to find a deep sense of awe and wonder, and true joy and satisfaction, when we stop to adjust our focus and think about just how amazing this creation is. We begin to adopt a level of humility by acknowledging we are incapable of creating such a wonderful world, and by giving thanks and reverence to the true source of it all, which is God.
New life, and a new way of thinking and of seeing the world begins when we start to give credit where credit is due.
